A streamlined option for parents who have reached a full agreement on child custody and child support.

Almost all uncontested custody matters can be completed without a court appearance.

Nevada must have jurisdiction to enter a custody order.

The basic package includes:

• The initial free, no obligation, telephone consultation;
• An in-person (or Zoom) consultation (up to two hours);
• Drafting the documents regularly required to obtain a decree of custody in Clark County, Nevada:
• Joint Petition for Custody, or a Complaint and Answer for Custody;
• Request for Summary Disposition;
• Affidavit in Support of Request for Summary Disposition;
• Decree of Custody;
• Up to one hour with an attorney to review the prepared documents and explain their contents.

You will need to fill out a form containing all the agreed-upon terms. Documents are prepared from the information you provide on the form.

For this service, Sandpiper does not represent or advocate for either parent. Either parent may consult an independent attorney before signing.

This package is for parents who have agreed on every issue. It does not include negotiation, mediation, or advice about whether your agreement is fair, in your individual best interests, or in your child’s best interests.

Current Clark County filing fees are generally $259 for a Joint Petition for Custody. When a complaint and answer are used, the combined filing fees are generally $476 ($259 for the Complaint plus $217 for the Answer). Court fees are paid separately and may change.

This package does not include:

• Legal advice, recommendations, negotiation, or mediation;
• Discovery or verification of income;
• Motions, court appearances, contested proceedings, or additional filings;
• Revisions caused by changes to the parents’ agreed terms.

If the court rejects your Custody Decree due to a drafting error, Sandpiper will correct the error with no additional attorney fees. If Sandpiper cannot correct the error, it will refund the package fee. This guarantee does not cover filing fees, third-party costs, or any consultation fee.
